Past Continuous Tense in Hindi
पहचान:- Past continuous tense के वाक्यों के अंत में {रहा था/रही थी/रहे थे} आदि,शब्द आते है।
Past continuous tense के वाक्यों को चार प्रकार से बनाया जाता है।
Affirmative Sentence ( साकारात्मक वाक्य )
Negative Sentence ( नकारात्मक वाक्य )
Interrogative Sentence ( प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य )
Negative Interrogative Sentence ( नाकारत्मक प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य )
1. Affirmative Sentence
Rule:- Subject + was/were + Verb की 1st form + ing + object.
Examples
विद्यार्थी खेलने जा रहे थे।
Students were going to play.
पापा घर आ रहे थे।
Dad was coming home.
राहुल खेल रहा था।
Rahul was playing.
हम जा रहे थे।
We were going.
लोग हँस रहे थे।
People were laughing.
आप घूम रहे थे।
You were walking.
मम्मी खाना पका रही थी।
Mom was cooking the food.
लोग नाच रह थे।
People were dancing.
मम्मी मुझे फ़ोन कर रही थी।
Mom was calling me.
मैं जा रहा था।
I was going.
2. Negative Sentence
Rule:- Subject + was/were + Not + Verb की 1st form + ing + object.
Examples
विद्यार्थी खेलने नहीं जा रहे थे।
Students were not going to play.
पापा घर नहीं आ रहे थे।
Dad was not coming home.
राहुल खेल नहीं रहा था।
Rahul was not playing.
हम नहीं जा रहे थे।
We were not going.
लोग नहीं हँस रहे थे।
People were not laughing.
आप नहीं घूम रहे थे।
You were not walking.
मम्मी खाना नहीं पका रही थी।
Mom was not cooking the food.
लोग नाच नहीं रह थे।
People were not dancing.
मम्मी मुझे फ़ोन नहीं कर रही थी।
Mom was not calling me.
मैं नहीं जा रहा था।
I was not going.
3. Interrogative Sentence
Rule:- {WH-Family} +Was/Were + Subject + Verb की 1st form + ing + object?
Examples
लोग कहाँ जा रहे थे?
Where were people going?
आप कब आ रहे थे?
When were you coming?
आप क्या कर रहे थे?
What were you doing?
क्या आप कर रहे थे?
were you doing?
वो कैसे आ रही थी?
How was she coming?
लोग क्यों देख रहे थे?
Why were people seeing?
राहुल कहाँ से आ रहा था?
Where was Rahul coming from?
मम्मी कितने पैसे दे रही थी?
How much money was Mom giving?
अनुष्का किसलिए यहाँ आ रही थी?
For what was Anushka coming here?
हम ऐसा क्यों सोच रहे थे?
Why were we thinking so?
4. Negative Interrogative Sentence
Rule:- {WH-Family} +Was/Were + Subject + Not + Verb की 1st form + ing + object?
Examples
लोग कब नहीं जा रहे थे?
When were people not going?
आप कब नहीं आ रहे थे?
When were you not coming?
आप क्या नहीं कर रहे थे?
What were you not doing?
क्या आप नहीं कर रहे थे?
were you not doing?
वो कैसे नहीं आ रही थी?
How was she not coming?
लोग क्यों नहीं देख रहे थे?
Why were people not seeing?
राहुल कहाँ से नहीं आ रहा था?
Where was Rahul not coming from?
मम्मी कितने पैसे नहीं दे रही थी?
How much money was Mom not giving?
अनुष्का किसलिए यहाँ नहीं आ रही थी?
For what was Anushka not coming here?
हम ऐसा क्यों नहीं सोच रहे थे?
