An essay on Holi
Holi is a festival of colors. This is one of the most important festivals throughout India. Holi celebrates every year with passion and excitement in the month of March by people, who all belong to the Hindu religion. People who celebrate this festival eagerly wait for it in the coming year. Every year to play with colors as well as eat delicious dishes.
We celebrate Holi with friends, family, and many others. Lots of People forget their troubles and join this festival to celebrate brotherhood. In other words, We forget our enemies to play with the colors of the festival. On this day people play with colors and apply them to each other’s faces.
Holi’s history
Hinduism believes, once upon a time there was a devil king, whose named Hiranyakashipu. He had a son Prahlad and a sister Holika. It is believed that the devil king was blessed by Lord Brahma. This blessing meant that no one could kill him whether animal, man, or weapon. This boon turned into a curse for him. The movement he had become very arrogant. He ordered his kingdom to worship him instead of God. This order was for his own son Prahlad as well. Following this instruction, all the people started worshipping him except his son Prahlad.
Prahlad refused to worship his father instead of worshipping God. That’s why he was a true believer of Lord Vishnu. Seeing his disobedience, the devil king made a plan with his sister for killing Prahlad. As soon as his sister got a blessing from Agnidev that fire could not burn her. Devil King made her sit in the fire with his son Prahlad. where Holika got burned with fire and Prahlad came out safe. Lord of Vishnu saved Prahlad from fire. Thus, People began celebrating Holi, as a victory of good over evil.

In fact, People celebrate Holi, especially in India. They collect lots of wood as well as a long bamboo, and a cloth-like flag shape. which is bound on the top of bamboo for Holika Dahan in the public areas. It symbolizes the burning of evil forces, modifying the story of Holika and king Hiranyakashipu. Moreover, they gather around Holika to blessing and worship the Lord. The next day is colorful in India. People get up early in the morning and pray to God. After that, they dress up in white clothes and play with colors. Children through water one another. People apply colors to each other’s faces; hug one another.
Moreover, People dance throughout the day and drink Thandai (Bhang). As well as people of all ages eat a special dish such as Gujiya. In the evening, People bathe and dress up and visit their friends, neighbors, and family.
Conclusion
Though, Holi spreads love, happiness, and brotherhood over the country. Similarly, Holi is evidence of the victory of good over evil. Holi removes all negativity from our life.
