Introduction :

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 at Porbandar in Gujrat. His father was Karamchand Gandhi (1822-1885) and his mother was Putlibai (1844-1891 ).  Mahatma Gandhi went to England after completing his early education in India, in 1891 and qualified as a barrister in 1894. he was known as the Father of the nation. he wanted that to be done freedoms of the country with non-violence and satyagraha, as his only weapons. Gandhiji contributed to both nationalist and internationalist movements. he was the cause of India’s independence from British colonial rule to world attention. 

Contribution of Mahatma Gandhi :

Though, Mahatma Gandhi was a notable public figure. His role was important in the social as well as political reform too. He liberated society from these social evils. therefore, his efforts brought great relief to many oppressed people due to these efforts Gandhiji became a famous international figure. In this context, he became the subject of discussion in many international media outlets. Mahatma Gandhi contributed significantly to environmental sustainability, Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence was perhaps his most important contribution. Gandhiji’s aim was to seek independence without violence. Similarly, This became of the violence at the chauri chaura incident. Secularism was another contribution of Gandhiji. 

Movements:

Gandhiji started several moments to force the British to concede India its independence like the quit India Movement (1942), the civil disobedience movement (1930), non-co-operation movement (1920). 

Death of Gandhiji:

Nathuram Godse, a Hindu nationalist, assassinated Gandhiji on 30 January 1948 by firing three bullets into his chest.

Gandhiji felt that it was his responsibility to fight for Indian rights. He was very important because he got us freedom from the British. Gandhiji changed history by protesting non-violently and gaining independence for India.
